Developed using the Starcraft II editor, the Dwarves of Bal mod was constructed for the Rock the Cabinet 2015 contest. The game pits players against one another in a ‘player-versus-player dungeon crawl’ where players compete to be the hero. The other players take on the role of monsters and villains attempting to slay the player and gain their humanity. The objective of the game is to kill the final boss as the hero player, so it’s important to be the one to kill the current hero to assume control.
Ideally, the mod would have sported random dungeon generation in terms of room layout and placement but I found that the Starcraft II editor had some latency issues with this. I plan to revisit this concept in the future with Unity.
